Vintage Hills

Vintage Hills

22 × 28 inches | Original Mixed Media on Gallery-Wrapped Canvas

Hill Country Layers is an abstract interpretation of the Texas landscape, where rolling hills, water, fields, and familiar rural forms unfold in richly textured bands of color.

Vintage papers are woven throughout the landscape, appearing within hills, fields, and pathways as fragments of another time. Layered paint, collage, expressive linework, and hand-worked textures create a landscape that feels less like a single place and more like a collection of memories—each layer revealing another piece of the story.

Earthy, colorful, and wonderfully unexpected, Hill Country Layers reflects Sage Briar Studio’s signature approach to transforming vintage materials into a new visual history of the Texas landscape.
